Job Description

We are seeking a skilled CNC Operator / Programmer to join our production team. The ideal candidate will have experience operating and programming CNC machinery—including routers (Shop Sabre), waterjet, and laser systems—to produce high-quality parts according to blueprints and specifications. This individual must be organized, safety-minded, quality-driven, and capable of maintaining productivity and accuracy within budget and schedule requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and program CNC equipment including Shop Sabre router, waterjet, and laser machines.
  • Interpret and read blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD files to ensure precise machining operations.
  • Create and modify CNC programs using CAM software to achieve optimal cutting paths and part quality.
  • Inspect and verify parts using appropriate measuring tools to ensure adherence to tolerances and specifications.
  • Maintain quality control throughout the production process; document inspections and report deviations.
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning on machines to ensure optimal performance.
  • Follow and enforce all safety policies and procedures to maintain a clean and hazard-free work environment.
  • Manage workflow efficiently, demonstrating urgency and attention to deadlines while maintaining high quality.
  • Monitor materials and production time to help projects stay on schedule and within budget.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to continuously improve processes and productivity.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required ; technical or trade school certification preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience operating and programming CNC equipment (router, waterjet, or laser).
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and CAD drawings.
  • Experience with Shop Sabre CNC routers strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of CAM programming software (e.g., Fusion 360, VCarve, Mastercam, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of materials, feeds / speeds, and machining processes.
  • Proven attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
