Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support the integrity and accuracy of our client's financial reporting. This position plays a key role in maintaining the general ledger, supporting monthly and year-end close activities, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal policies. The ideal candidate will enjoy working cross-functionally to gather data, analyze financial results, and provide clear, timely insights to leadership and other stakeholders.
- Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations and monthly account analyses to ensure financial accuracy.
- Record and maintain journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation, in full compliance with GAAP.
- Support the month-end close process, including preparation of schedules, variance analysis, and reporting deliverables.
- Partner with external auditors by providing required documentation and responding to audit inquiries.
- Manage fixed asset accounting, including tracking capital expenditures, recording additions and disposals, and reconciling subledgers and operational records.
- Perform daily cash reconciliations, process adjustments, and complete monthly bank reconciliations.
- Handle prepaid expense accounting, including journal entries, schedules, and tracking.
- Assist in developing and refining accounting procedures and internal controls to enhance process efficiency and accuracy.
- Support additional projects and tasks as needed within the finance department.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.3+ years of accounting experience, preferably within public accounting or a corporate finance environment.Solid understanding of GAAP
