Are you an experienced archivist who thrives on solving complex challenges, leading teams through high-volume corporate projects, and setting the standard for archival excellence? Do you have the drive to manage diverse collections while guiding archivists, technicians, and senior staff with empathy and precision? If so, Heritage Werks could be the place for you.

Who We Are

At Heritage Werks, we believe every story deserves to be preserved and shared. We partner with leading brands, sports teams, and organizations to safeguard priceless materials and bring them to life in ways that inspire connection. We preserve history, we preserve generations’ legacy, and we preserve our clients’ most valuable collections with care and purpose. Our work is about honoring the past while making it meaningful for today and relevant for the future—helping people and organizations celebrate where they’ve been and envision where they are going.

What You’ll Do

As the Director of Corporate Collections, you will serve as the gatekeeper of archival standards for our corporate clients, managing collections from intake to completion. This role combines people's leadership, problem-solving, and execution oversight. You’ll supervise a large team, oversee quality control plans, and ensure every collection is processed, preserved, and delivered with excellence.

You will :

  • Lead a team of Senior Archivists, Archivists, and Technicians (approx. 12 staff total) with empathy, accountability, and a commitment to growth
  • Manage a client roster of 6–9 active execution clients, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to archival best practice standards
  • Oversee the unpacking, processing, inventorying, labeling, housing, and governance documentation of corporate collections
  • Implement and monitor quality control mechanisms, ensuring accuracy across all workflows and deliverables
  • Problem-solve challenges such as environmental risks, space forecasting, and preservation issues (mold, pests, etc.) with practical solutions
  • Support Client Services with assessments, surveys, artifact presentations, and governance documents
  • Forecast supply needs, manage budgets, and coordinate with project managers to avoid processing delays
  • Train, mentor, and develop staff, ensuring consistency in execution and encouraging professional growth
  • Take ownership of execution projects—often being first in, last out—to set the standard for work ethic and accountability

What You Bring

We are looking for a leader who is both a highly skilled archivist and an empathetic people manager. You should be energized by solving big problems, guiding teams, and ensuring every project reflects the highest standards of archival science. Success in this role comes from balancing attention to detail with a bias for action, fostering collaboration, and maintaining flexibility in a dynamic environment.
