Senior Data Center Technician / NOC TechnicianPosition Overview

With solid server maintenance experience, able to independently configure and troubleshoot network devices. Maintains good communication with customers and team members and is familiar with data center workflows and standards.
Responsibilities
- Handle on-site inspections and maintenance, proactively identifying potential risks and suggesting improvements.
- Use monitoring tools to analyze and optimize network and server performance metrics.
- Efficiently manage maintenance tasks and incident resolutions using a ticketing system.
- Diagnose and resolve server hardware failures, performing component replacements and adjustments as needed.
- Read and analyze in-depth server logs (e.g., SEL, system logs) to identify and fix issues.
- Operate BMC / IPMI tools to perform remote hardware monitoring and troubleshooting.
- Participate in firmware updates, patch management, and hardware upgrade plans to maintain system stability.
- Plan and execute cabling tasks (fiber and copper), including installation, testing, and troubleshooting.
- Manage the rack-mounting process for servers and network devices, ensuring correct connections and documentation.
- Oversee the inventory of spare parts, handling cables, hardware components, etc.
- Understand OSI Layers 1-4 and independently troubleshoot network faults (e.g., link failures, transport layer misconfigurations).
- Familiar with basic CLI configurations for Arista, Cisco, and Juniper devices (e.g., port setup, VLAN configurations, default routing).
- Assist or independently perform firmware upgrades and module replacements (PSU, line cards, transceiver) on network devices.
- Provide network support during data center projects, communicating requirements and solutions with clients.
- Participate in data center buildouts or go-live projects, coordinating server rack mounting, initial configuration, and network device deployment.
- Maintain effective communication with internal teams and customers, providing timely project updates and issue reporting.
- Draft and refine technical documentation as needed.
Qualifications
2-5 years of experience in data center or related fields, proficient in server hardware maintenance and basic network configuration / troubleshooting.Familiarity with Linux server management, able to handle simple operations and troubleshooting.Preferred to hold or be working towards relevant network or server certifications (e.g., CCNA, CompTIA Network+).Strong communication skills to coordinate with cross-functional teams and maintain professional customer interactions.Able to lift and install equipment weighing about 25 lbs.Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields preferred.Proficiency in office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).Job Type : Full-time
Pay : $30.05 - $31.89 per hour
