AV Field Engineer
The AV Field Engineer will be responsible for the on-site installation, integration, and commissioning of commercial audio-visual systems. This role requires hands-on technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to deliver high-quality system implementations for clients across corporate, education, government, and entertainment environments.
Salary : $85000-110000 / yr
Responsibilities :
- Install, configure, and integrate professional AV systems including displays, projectors, video walls, sound systems, microphones, and control systems (Crestron, Extron, AMX, QSC, Biamp, etc.)
- Read and interpret AV system drawings, signal flow diagrams, and architectural plans to ensure accurate installation and system performance
- Pull, terminate, and test cabling for audio, video, control, and network systems (Cat6, fiber, speaker wire, etc.)
- Mount and secure AV components such as displays, racks, ceiling microphones, cameras, and loudspeakers in accordance with safety and quality standards
- Perform system commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting to verify functionality and ensure optimal performance
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to identify and resolve technical issues during installation
- Document system configurations, test results, and field modifications for project closeout packages
- Provide on-site technical support, training, and guidance to junior installers and subcontractors
- Ensure compliance with all company standards, safety policies, and manufacturer best practices
