Role Overview

The Portfolio Manager for Claims and Future Engagements will be responsible for overseeing a strategic portfolio of claims-related initiatives and upcoming client engagements. This role ensures alignment between business objectives, delivery capabilities, and stakeholder expectations. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical, financial, and stakeholder management skills to drive portfolio performance and future readiness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Portfolio Management
  • Manage and optimize a portfolio of claims-related projects and future engagement opportunities
  • Monitor performance metrics, risks, and benefits realization across the portfolio
  • Ensure alignment with strategic goals and compliance with governance frameworks
  • Claims Oversight
  • Collaborate with Claims teams to assess project outcomes, operational efficiency, and client satisfaction
  • Identify trends and improvement areas in claims processing and resolution
  • Support transformation initiatives in claims management
  • Future Engagement Planning
  • Partner with business development and client teams to forecast and plan future engagements
  • Evaluate resource capacity, budget implications, and strategic fit of upcoming projects
  • Develop readiness plans and ensure smooth onboarding of new engagements
  • Stakeholder Engagement
  • Act as a key liaison between delivery teams, leadership, and external stakeholders
  • Facilitate portfolio review meetings and provide transparent reporting
  • Address escalations and ensure timely resolution of portfolio-level issues
  • Risk and Financial Management
  • Identify and mitigate portfolio risks including financial, operational, and reputational risks
  • Track budget utilization, cost & benefit analysis, and ROI across initiatives
  • Support investment decisions and prioritization efforts

Qualifications

Bachelors or Masters degree in Business, Finance, or related field. Seven years of experience in portfolio / program management, preferably in claims or client services. Strong understanding of claims lifecycle, client engagement models, and delivery frameworks. Proficiency in portfolio management tools (e.g., Clarity, MS Project, JIRA). Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills. PMP / PfMP or similar certification preferred.
