We have an exciting opportunity for a Software Engineer I to join our Electro-Optical & Infrared (EO / IR) Solutions Engineering Team in McKinney, TX, which is part of our Advanced Products & Solutions group.

The Advanced Product and Solutions organization at RTX provides the joint warfighter with actionable information from an unblinking eye across the battlespace. What You Will Learn

How to develop and maintain large-scale, complex software solutions in an agile environment.

Testing frameworks and best practices to enable high-quality software deliveries utilizing Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery concepts.

What You Will Do

This position is for a Software Engineer who has educational and professional experience in the development and implementation of software for real-time applications.

Deliverables include but not limited to :

Supports all aspects of a software development life cycle as members of a multi-disciplined team. This would include supporting new and legacy military and commercial programs from concept and requirements, to design, development, integration, test, and potentially subsequent maintenance tasking.

Uses and provides creative solutions to complex technical system and software integration problems.

Works closely with Systems Engineers to design ideal solutions with the end user and operational needs in mind.

The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. government issued security clearance and a Special Access Program security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Work onsite at McKinney, TX [relocation eligible]

Qualifications You Must Have

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related (STEM) discipline.

This position requires 12 months or less of relevant professional work experience.

Experience developing software with C, C++,  or Java.

The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. government issued security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer

Experience in a Unix / Linux operating system.

Experience with CI / CD tools (Jenkins) and configuration management tools (Git, Bitbucket, Artifactory).

Knowledge of data structures and algorithms, memory management, and multithreaded applications.

Well-developed communication, technical writing, oral presentation, and interpersonal skills.

Experience contributing to a team environment for the purpose of developing creative solutions to complex technical problems.

Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment with time-critical requirements.

Ability to promote a culture of continuous learning, cross-team collaboration and training.

The salary range for this role is 55,000 USD - 107,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education / training, and key skills.
