About us :
People Serving People at St. Anne’s Place provides emergency shelter to women or non-binary-led families and pregnant individuals. Shelter guests stay in private family bedrooms with shared bathrooms and receive meals and snacks. Intensive case management, children’s programming, health and wellness opportunities, and parenting and early childhood education are also provided for each family. Staff are here to support these families on their journeys to stable housing.
What do we need :
The primary focus of this position is the preparation and serving of nutritious meals to the residents of St. Anne’s Place in compliance with state and federal requirements, Minnesota Department of Health regulations and codes, as well as the mission and values of the organization. We need an On-Call Cook, who can work the schedule : Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9 : 00 a.m. - 7 : 00 p.m., from 11 / 6 / 2025 - 12 / 18 / 2025, and then on-call afterwards. On-call staff pick up at least two shifts per month - assuming those shifts are available.
Responsibilities :
Prepares meals from scratch following provided recipes.
Adjusts prepared quantities based on requests to minimize food waste.
Uses initiative in adjusting recipes to accommodate medical / cultural dietary restrictions.
Maintains paperwork in compliance with CACFP requirements.
Maintains a clean and safe kitchen and serving area in compliance with health code.
Serves and records meals in accordance with CACFP requirements.
Works with the Activities Coordinator to facilitate meals / snacks for field trips.
Enforces rules of People Serving People.
Provides trauma and culturally informed services to our resident families.
Performs additional duties as assigned by Operations Coordinator or St. Anne’s Place Program Manager.
Pay and Benefits : Part-time.
$26.78 per hour.

High School / GED.
Experience working in commercial kitchens.
Working knowledge of cost control techniques, volume feeding, and Minnesota Department of Health food regulations preferred.
Experience working with people experiencing homelessness or poverty preferred.
Must be able to obtain ServSafe Food Handler Certification within 3 months if not current or already received.
Must be able to operate industrial kitchen equipment.
Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time. Lift and / or move 75 lbs.
Must be able to access Microsoft Outlook to read and send emails, print files from
OneDrive, and attend meetings via Teams.
Must be able to access Paylocity via smartphone in order to clock in / out, check your
schedule, and access benefit.
Compensation details : 26.78-26.78 Hourly Wage
