This is a paid internship with a pay rate of $15.00/hr.
The Public Health Preparedness Intern will provide administrative support with public health preparedness efforts to ensure a ready public health workforce and a robust preparedness program built on proactive planning. The mission of the Public Health Preparedness program is to build and strengthen our workforce’s abilities to effectively respond to a range of public health threats, including infectious diseases, natural disasters, and biological, chemical, nuclear, and radiological events. Efforts focus on enhancing all hazards planning and direction, coordination and assessment, surveillance and detection capacities, risk communication and health information dissemination, telecommunications capabilities, and education and training.
Education/Experience: Currently pursuing a bachelors in public health, emergency management, or supply chain. Experience participating in or supporting emergency drills, safety exercises, or incident-preparedness activities
Primary Responsibilities:
Time Commitment: 15 hours per week; Summer Term (May 2026 - August 2026)
Benefit of Internship: As a member of a small, dynamic team, the intern will gain hands-on experience by contributing to high-quality, impactful projects. They will engage directly with the community through outreach initiatives while also supporting internal functions that strengthen response readiness and enhance workforce development. Throughout the internship, they will complete well-defined projects that can be showcased on their résumé and develop transferable skills applicable to coordinating and managing a variety of programs.
