Job Title : Family Justice Center Intake Specialist

The Family Justice Center is hiring for two Intake Specialists. These positions provide trauma informed integrated intake services for survivo rs accessing services at the Family Justice Center. Intake Specialists explain available services from the multiple partner agencies review confidentiality policies coordinate initial service provision escort clients through the Center and into secure areas and answer questions.

Buncombe County Governments Family Justice Center(FJC) is a safe place where victims of domestic violence sexual and elder abuse can come for help. At the Buncombe County Family Justice Center survivors can access many different services in one location and begin their journey towards hope healing and safety. This job posting will end at 11 : 59PM on Tuesday May 6th and we anticipate their first day of work to be June 2nd 2025.

Purpose of the position :

The purpose of this position is to greet and intake individuals seeking services at the Family Justice Center assess their eligibility identify their needs and connect individuals to services.

Additional Training and Experience : English / Spanish bilingual speakers preferred.

Minimum Education Training and / or Experience (required at time of hire) : Bachelors degree in human services social work sociology criminal justice or related field or ; a High School diploma or GED and three 3 years of related human services social work sociology criminal justice or related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation : Certified Substance Abuse Counselor Peer Support Specialist or qualified mental health and / or substance abuse professional preferred.

Essential Functions of the Position :

Process eligible cases through the system in an organized and timely manner.

Ensure accurate and timely documentation of participant information to ensure quality assurance and outcomes of programs being offered.

Maintain relationships with partner agencies and community referrals.

Ensure processes used in assigned program comply with approved program goals.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge Skills Abilities :

Knowledge of principles practices procedures and philosophies of public administration health and behavioral health systems communitybased services.

Knowledge of ethical guidelines applicable to the position as outlined by professional standards federal state and local laws or ordinances.

Knowledge of the principles and practices of case management; interviewing methods and techniques; and experience in data entry in a webbased data system.

Skilled in solving problems analytically; maintaining accurate records files and reports; coordinating multiple tasks simultaneously; communicating effectively both orally and in writing.

Interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers supervisor the general public communicating with people in crisis. etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.
