Travel Nursing Job Details

Location : Topeka, KS 66606 (Kansas nursing jobs)

Estimated Weekly Salary : $1,460 - $1,500

Assignment Length : 13 weeks (option to extend)

Start Date : November 19, 2025

Shift : Day shift, 4x12-hour shifts / week (06 : 45 - 19 : 15)

Hours per Week : 36 (option for 48 hours)

Unit : Med / Surg – Floor 7 (General Medical, stable remote telemetry monitored patients)

Patient Population : Adults and geriatrics

Patient Ratio : 5-6 patients per nurse

Weekend Shifts : Some weekends required (variable schedule)

Floating : Required to similar Med / Surg units as needed

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active KS or Compact RN license (required for submission)

BLS certification (required)

NIHSS certification (preferred)

Minimum 1 year recent Med / Surg RN experience (2 years preferred)

Travel nursing experience preferred

Epic charting system experience preferred

Ability to float to similar Med / Surg units

Must reside more than 50 miles from facility (local candidates not accepted)

Med / Surg RN Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with diverse medical conditions

Monitor and manage stable remote telemetry patients (no cardiac drips)

Administer medications, blood products, and manage central / PICC lines

Perform wound care, colostomy care, feeding tube management, and pre / post hemodialysis care

Utilize and interpret telemetry, ABGs, and high-flow oxygen devices (CPAP / BiPAP, HFNC)

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including PT, RT, pharmacy, and social services

Document patient care using Epic (preferred) and maintain accurate clinical records

Float to similar Med / Surg units as required

Participate in orientation and complete required onsite modules
