Responsible for assisting teacher(s) in providing a well-organized, smoothly functioning educational environment in which students can take full advantage of the instructional program and available resources, under the direct supervision of a Highly Qualified Teacher.
Assignments include working with students with exceptional needs, including academic and behavior. Training will be provided on best-practices and required curriculums.

Common job-specific duties for paraprofessionals may include :
1. Classroom Assistance : Helping the teacher with classroom management, preparing materials, and maintaining a conducive learning environment.
2. Individual Student Support : Working one-on-one with students who may need extra help, such as those with special needs or learning disabilities.
3. Small Group Instruction : Leading small groups in specific activities, such as reading or math exercises, under the teacher's direction.
4. Behavioral Support : Assisting in managing student behavior, implementing behavior plans, and providing guidance for positive social interactions.
5. Supervision : Monitoring students during non-classroom times, such as recess, lunch, or on field trips.
6. Administrative Tasks : Assisting with record-keeping, grading, attendance, and other paperwork.
7. Communication : Facilitating communication between teachers, students, parents, and other school staff.
8. Adaptation of Materials : Modifying lesson plans or materials to better suit the needs of individual students.
9. Technology Support : Helping students use educational software, tablets, or other classroom technology.
10. Physical Assistance : For students with physical disabilities, helping with mobility, personal care, or other daily living activities. This may include assisting with feeding, and toileting.
11. Other duties as assigned based in individual students' needs.

Additional Job Information
We are hiring paraprofessionals in full and part-time positions at school sites across the district. Interviewing for the pool will allow applicants to be considered for multiple locations at one time. Final placement will require an interview with the specific school site. Hours per day may vary from four (4) - seven (7) hours.
Elementary Hours - 8 : 30 - 3 : 00
Middle School Hours - 9 : 30 - 4 : 00
High School Hours - 7 : 30 - 3 : 00
Once selected and placed at school site, candidate may be eligible for an additional pay in the form of one or more supplements.
If candidate accepts a para-assignment, in which the job requires para to assist student(s) with toileting and feeding, employee will be eligible to earn additional pay in the form of a supplement. This additional pay essentially allows employee to earn an additional $1 per hour.
If candidate accepts a para-assignment at Everhart, employee will be eligible to earn additional pay in the form of a supplement. This additional pay essentially allows employee to earn an additional $1 per hour.
If candidate accepts a para-assignment at Everhart and the same para-assignment requires the para to assist student(s) with toilet and feeding, the candidate will be eligible to earn two supplements. In receiving these two supplements, the employee will essentially allow employee to earn an additional $2 per hour.
If para chooses to later accept a different para-assignment, in which these duties are not required, the supplement will not then be available.
Employees who serve as a paraprofessional may also be eligible to participate in a para to teacher program free of charge. Additional information is available upon employment.
