Mackin Engineers & Consultants is seeking a collaborative and detail-driven Civil Engineer to support the planning and design of land development, recreation, and public infrastructure projects. Under the supervision of the Land Development Practice Lead, this role will contribute to a wide range of civil site design work including stormwater management, grading, drainage, and erosion control. The ideal candidate will have experience preparing construction documents, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and contributing to projects that enhance local communities. WHAT YOU'LL DO :
- Provide civil engineering support for site development, parks, trails, streetscapes, and recreational facility projects
- Prepare reports, calculations, and design drawings for construction and permitting
- Analyze site data, including location, drainage patterns, and structure placement for planning and design
- Develop grading, stormwater, erosion and sediment control, and utility plans
- Collaborate with internal teams, including structural engineering and landscape architecture, on multi-disciplinary projects
- Support proposal development, including technical content and pricing
- Conduct site inspections and support field work as needed
- Prepare construction cost estimates, specifications, and tabulations of quantities
- Provide direction for CADD production and review design drawings for quality and accuracy
- Ensure adherence to project budgets, schedules, and client expectations
- Check work of junior staff and assist with technical reviews
- Communicate effectively with internal team members, clients, and stakeholders
- Maintain accurate time tracking and meet billable hour targets
- Contribute to firmwide initiatives, technical advancement, and collaborative culture
- Represent Mackin at industry events, committees, and professional conferences
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR :
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline (required)Minimum of 2 years of civil engineering experience or equivalent combination of education and experienceEIT or PE in Pennsylvania preferred (Ohio, Maryland, and West Virginia a plus)Experience with AutoCAD, StormCAD, and HydroCAD (or similar tools)Familiarity with Deltek Ajera and Microsoft Office SuiteStrong understanding of site development principles, permitting requirements, and engineering standardsExcellent communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skillsAbility to manage multiple tasks, collaborate across disciplines, and work both independently and as part of a teamPassion for delivering high-quality work and serving community-focused clientsWHAT WE OFFER :
