A well-established manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to join its growing team. This role is ideal for someone ready to take ownership of daily accounting operations while mentoring others and leveraging Sage to enhance reporting and efficiency.

As an Assistant Controller , you'll oversee a team of five and play a key role in month-end close, financial reporting, and system optimization.

What You'll Do as an Assistant Controller :

Lead and Mentor a Team :

As the Assistant Controller , you'll supervise and coach three accounting staff members, oversee daily workflow, conduct performance evaluations, and foster a positive, productive team culture.

Manage Month-End Close & Reporting :

You'll take the lead on month-end and year-end close processes, prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies.

Oversee AP, AR & Internal Controls :

You'll ensure the accuracy and timeliness of accounts payable and receivable operations, approve vendor payments, collaborate with collections, and maintain compliance with internal controls and audit readiness.

Support Budgeting & Financial Planning :

The Assistant Controller will contribute to budgeting and forecasting efforts, monitor performance against financial plans, and provide variance analyses to support data-driven decision-making.

What We're Looking For in an Assistant Controller :

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills

Experience in high-volume accounting environments

Strong leadership, communication, and organizational abilities

Previous experience with companies of comparable revenue preferred
