This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Data Engineer in Tennessee (USA) .

In this role, you will design, implement, and optimize advanced data solutions to support complex business and client needs. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop cloud-based architectures, manage ETL / ELT pipelines, and ensure data integrity, security, and scalability. This position combines hands-on technical delivery with mentorship responsibilities, guiding junior engineers and contributing to best practices across projects. You will also engage with clients to understand requirements and deliver innovative, high-impact solutions. The environment is dynamic, collaborative, and focused on leveraging cutting-edge technologies to solve challenging data problems.

Accountabilities :

  • Design and develop scalable, efficient cloud-based data architectures to meet client and business requirements.
  • Implement data integration solutions using APIs, web services, and ETL / ELT pipelines to ensure seamless information flow.
  • Manage and optimize databases for performance, reliability, and scalability, applying best practices for indexing and query optimization.
  • Maintain data security and compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders, to deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Mentor and coach junior team members, sharing knowledge, reviewing code, and promoting best practices.
  • Assist in client engagements, including requirement gathering, solution design, and post-deployment enablement.
  • Develop proof-of-concepts, lab environments, and business cases to demonstrate the benefits of advanced data solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Data Engineer or similar role, with demonstrated success delivering complex projects.
  • Proficiency in Python, SQL, YML, Terraform, and related coding or scripting languages.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and associated data services (e.g., Databricks, BigQuery).
  • Familiarity with Big Data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, and related tools.
  • Experience with SCM tools such as Git, GitHub, and GitLab.
  • Knowledge of automation and configuration management solutions (e.g., Ansible, Terraform, Octopus Deploy, AWS Config, Azure Automation).
  • Strong communication skills to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Bilingual French & English is an asset.
  • Optional but preferred certifications : Google Professional Data Engineer, Databricks Certified Data Engineer, Azure or AWS data engineering certifications.
