Must-Have : Trauma experience, Stroke experience, cardiac rhythm interpretation, conscious sedation skills

Description :

This is a position for a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department.

The facility is a Level I Trauma, Teaching Hospital.

It features 874 licensed beds, a Chest Pain Center, and a Stroke Center.

The department has 43 emergency department beds and 20 boarding beds.

Patients commonly present with trauma, stroke, heart failure, chest pain, and other critical conditions.

Travelers may be hired to cover emergency department holds.

The patient nurse ratio is 1 : 5, based on acuity.

RNs are expected to manage critical care drips, perform blood administration, and provide care for a variety of patients.

Floating may be required to other facilities as needed.

Travelers are expected to work 75% of holidays and may take up to 6 days off without including holidays.

Scrubs are navy in color.

No call is required for travelers, and weekend rotations will occur every other weekend.

Support staff includes charge nurses, respiratory therapists, and hospitalists available 24 / 7.

Nurses will read monitors and respond without telemetry monitoring tech.

Electronic medical record documentation is conducted via the facility's EMR system.

Medication administration includes managing various infusions and blood products.

General Med / Tele skills are also relevant for this position.
