Descripción del trabajoActive NC or compact RN license required, Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required, Minimum 1 year of recent CVICU experience required, CVICU experience must be within the past year, EPIC EMR experience preferred, Experience with post-cardiac assessment, circulatory support (IABP, Impella, LVAD, ECMO), titration of vasoactive and antiarrhythmic medications, cardiac waveform interpretation, and hemodynamic monitoring required, CCRN certification preferred, Primary responsibilities include caring for critically ill cardiovascular patients, monitoring hemodynamics, and managing advanced cardiac support devices, Support staff includes 24 / 7 CNA, Respiratory Therapist, Intensivist, and charge nurse present during shifts, Nurse-drawn phlebotomy is required, Department provides a one-week general orientation and 2-3 days of unit-specific training, Royal blue scrubs are required for nursing staff, Fast-paced environment with high-acuity cases, Department prides itself on a collaborative, supportive team culture, First-time travelers with appropriate CVICU experience are welcome to apply, All time-off requests (RTO) must have nurse manager approval,
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU night shift position requiring recent CVICU experience and a compact or NC RN license.
Job Details
- Position is based in a Level 1 Trauma, Academic Medical Center in the Cardiovascular ICU,
- Unit is a 22-bed ICU with an average daily census of 20 patients,
- Patient population includes surgical and medical cardiac critical care such as post-CABG, valve repair, Impella, IABP, thoracic aortic aneurysms, and more,
- Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 : 2,
- 12-hour night shifts from 6 : 30pm to 7 : 00am with every other weekend work required,
- Travelers may float to other critical care units such as PCU (1 : 3 ratio) and MS (1 : 4 ratio),
- Epic EMR is used; experience preferred,
- No on-call requirements,
- Travelers are expected to work 75% of holidays,
