Position Information Job Title Part Time - Spanish Instructor Location Woodland Community College - position assigned to the Colusa County Campus in Williams, CA Job Description BASIC FUNCTION:
  • Develop and deliver instructional lectures for Spanish courses up to 10 hours/week
  • Organize and teach all levels of Spanish classes
  • Use appropriate teaching methods to facilitate student learning;
  • Teach day, evening, and/or weekend teaching assignments, which may include distance learning (interactive television, online) and accelerated courses;
  • Assess Student Learning Outcomes every semester;
  • Participate in department, division, and college-wide initiatives and committees if desired
Essential Duties Summary
  • Demonstrate sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds of community college students
Required Qualifications REQUIRED DUTIES:
Demonstrate sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.

Minimum Qualifications:The successful candidate, by the final filing date, must possess the minimum qualifications stated below:
  • Master’s in the language taught OR
  • Bachelor’s in the language taught
  • AND Master’s in Linguistics OR
  • The equivalent:
Desired/Preferred Qualifications EXPERIENCE:
Preference may be given to candidates with life or teaching which would demonstrate the clear ability to teach Spanish to community college students. Physical Demands Range/Step Class I - VII (Based on degree and teaching experience). Salary Range Step 1: $1,377.25 - Step 7: $2,126.79 per unit.   • As a condition of employment, the position you are applying for will require that you provide fingerprints to the local police department. The fees charged by the Department of Justice (DOJ) and FBI for the fingerprint report is the employee’s responsibility.
  • Fingerprint clearance must be received prior to the employee’s first day on the job.
