Med / Surg RN Job Details Location : Midland, Texas 79701 Assignment Type : Travel Nursing, On-Site Unit : 6005 Resource Team (Medical / Surgical) Start Date : November 17, 2025 (December 1, 2025 also available) End Date : February 9, 2026 Contract Duration : 12 weeks Shift : 3x12-Hour Days (06 : 45 - 19 : 15) Hours per Week : 36 Estimated Weekly Salary : $1700 - $1820 per week Patient Population : Adults & Geriatrics Patient Ratio : 1 : 7 Float Requirement : Float to Oncology, Ortho / Neuro, Medical, & Post-Surgical units Weekend Shifts : 13 weekend shifts per contract Orientation : 16 hours of initial classroom orientation, plus up to 36 hours of total orientation including unit-specific training Charting System : Cerner (preferred) Registered Nurse Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Texas or compact state; pending license accepted with submission, must be active before start) Minimum 2 years of recent Med / Surg RN experience Experience in ortho, neuro, and oncology patient care required BLS and NIHSS certifications required Flu vaccine required (medical / religious exemptions allowed) Ability to float to multiple units as needed Experience with Cerner charting system preferred Must pass on-site drug screening prior to assignment Med / Surg RN Responsibilities Deliver high-quality, compassionate nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a Medical / Surgical setting Float between Oncology, Ortho / Neuro, Medical, and Post-Surgical units as required Manage a patient load of up to 7 patients per shift Administer medications, monitor patient progress, and document care using Cerner EMR Perform specialized nursing skills : central line blood draws, wound care, tracheostomy care, telemetry monitoring, PCA, IV starts, and more Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Social Services, and Rapid Response Teams Participate in rapid response / code teams as needed Maintain compliance with hospital policies, infection control, and isolation precautions Apply now to join our healthcare team and take the next step in your travel nursing career in Midland, Texas!
