Your role as a Direct Support Professional III

As a Direct Support Professional III (DSP III) at Hills & Dales Child Development Center, you will embark on an exhilarating journey of empowerment and growth. You will provide unwavering support to both children and adults, teaching them essential skills and behaviors that maximize their independence in daily activities. Your role will include assisting individuals in exercising their rights while fostering their ability to thrive. By implementing approved behavior management procedures, you will play a pivotal role in helping persons served reduce interfering behaviors and learn appropriate alternatives. This position not only emphasizes professional development but also reflects our genuine commitment to advocacy and empathetic support, making every day at work a rewarding adventure!

What we're looking for in a Direct Support Professional III

To thrive as a Direct Support Professional III (DSP III) at Hills & Dales Child Development Center, you must possess a unique blend of skills and qualifications that align with our mission. First and foremost, candidates should be at least 18 years old and hold a high school diploma or equivalent. A valid driver's license and reliable personal vehicle with valid insurance are essential, ensuring you can transport persons served safely.

You should be physically capable of lifting up to 35 lbs, demonstrating both strength and resilience. A genuine concern for others is crucial, along with the ability to assertively communicate and advocate for clients' needs. Success in this role hinges on your alignment with our empathetic values and your resourcefulness in teaching life skills, all while fostering a positive, person-centered environment that encourages independence and growth.

Knowledge and skills required for the position are :

  • Eighteen years of age or older
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • ICF specific : Valid driver's license required
  • HCBS specific : - Valid driver's license reliable personal vehicle and valid insurance. AND High School diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to lift 35 lbs.
  • Demonstrated concern for others and alignment with the mission of Hills & Dales.
  • Ability to assertively communicate and advocate for clients.
