About The Position
- Position Description
- West Penn Hospital is seeking a Critical Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide overnight coverage in the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU). This position supports the expansion of a new critical care service line and includes Tele-ICU support along with an in-house supervising physician.
- Responsibilities Include :
- Managing critically ill patients overnight in the MICU
- Handling new admissions and responding to codes
- Performing and managing procedures, including :
- Arterial lines
- Central lines
- Dialysis catheters
- Collaborating with a remote Tele-ICU network (St. Vincent)
- Working alongside an in-house supervising physician
- Schedule & Shift Structure :
- Nights : 7 : 00 PM – 7 : 00 AM
- Flexible block scheduling based on provider availability
- No on-call responsibilities
- Patients per day : TBD (new unit launch)
- Team Model :
- Solo APP coverage per night
- Tele-ICU physician support
- On-site supervising physician overnight
- Target Start & Duration :
- February – June 2026
- 2.0 FTE (every night of the month)
