We are seeking a reliable team member with a positive attitude for a full-time Operating Room Aide position within our Surgery Center.

What You Will Do :

  • Assist in tasks involving maintenance of the operating room. The primary focus is to help with set-up and efficient turnover of the operating rooms and caring for the instruments and equipment to be used during the surgical procedure.
  • Put out clean mops for the operating rooms based on the amount of turnovers, per room
  • Helps rooms gather equipment
  • Help open supplies and instruments for case
  • Check instrument pan filters
  • Ties up scrub personnel, PA’s and physicians, as needed
  • Takes garbage and linen to “Trash Room”, after operative case is completed
  • Exchanges sharps containers when ¾ full
  • Remove water from floor by scrub sinks
  • Change trash bags at scrub sink, as needed
  • Helps transfer patients onto & off of positioning equipment in the OR
  • Help change over rooms, focusing on heavier rooms, ie. Shoulder arthroscopies, Neurosurgery cases, Endoscopic ACL’s, etc

What You Will Need :

  • 1 year experience in hospital / healthcare environment required.
  • Previous experience with sterile / aseptic techniques preferred.
  • Ability to simultaneously handle competing priorities.
  • Familiarity with operating room protocols desired.
  • Strong organizational skills as well as attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Able to stand and walk 80% of time.
  • Able to push and pull equipment in the operating room.
