Job Summary
Under the general supervision of the Lead Physician and in accordance with standardized procedures, the Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is responsible for providing primary care to ambulatory patients through regular health assessments and the management of common acute and chronic stable conditions.
WRMC is looking for dependable, highly enthusiastic, experienced nurse practitioners for FT position. The job requires excellent communication skills, the ability to work independently and as a team member. Mid-shifts ending at 11 pm or midnight. We are seeking candidates who are willing to work 6 / 8 hours instead of full 12-hour shift which provides some flexibility.
Under the general supervision of the lead physician an in accordance with standardized procedures, the Nurse Practitioner is responsible for providing primary care to patients through regular health assessments and the management of common acute and chronic stable conditions. The Nurse Practitioner obtains a health history and performs a physical assessment, identifies problems, and formulates plans that include treatment, health education and counseling. The Nurse Practitioner collaborates with other health care professionals in assessing and managing health care problems and maintain continuity of care.
Essential Functions
- Assesses the physical and mental condition of patients by performing and obtaining comprehensive or problem-focused physical examinations and medical histories.
- Orders collect, interpret, and evaluate laboratory and other diagnostic tests to assess patient problems and health care needs.
- Prescribes, recommends, and / or employs medical drug therapies or other forms of related therapeutic treatments and procedures or performs indicated procedures in accordance with approved policies with attention to efficacy, safety, and cost. Recommends interventions to modify behavior associated with health risks.
- Formulates and implements comprehensive outcomes-based patient treatment plans based on patient assessments, evidence-based medicine, standards of care, professional practice guidelines and in collaboration with physicians and other interdisciplinary team members when appropriate. Evaluate patient’s response to health care provided and the effectiveness of care.
- Counsels patients and families regarding medical processes, management of the health-illness / condition, medication, nutrition, and health promotion. Counsels patients about drug regimens and possible side effects or interactions with other substances such as food supplements, over-the-counter medications, and herbal remedies.
- Maintains appropriate records detailing the patient’s treatment plans and outcomes. Initiates timely consultation and referral when the problem exceeds the scope of practice and / or expertise.
- Provides consultation level services for conditions / problems related to the Provider’s specialty and training.
- Performs invasive procedures specific to the scope of practice and provider’s level of competency as delegated by supervising Physician.
- May be required to perform patient care duties beyond regular schedule based on coverage needs of the department.

At least three years of experience working as an NP in a hospital environmentEMR systems : 2 years (Preferred)Urgent Care : 2 years (Required)Minimum 2 years’ experience in urgent care or emergency room preferred, able to work independently, comfortable with procedures, current licensure with ACLS.EducationBSN – Bachelor of Science in NursingMSN - Masters Degree in nursingLicensure / Certifications
Physician Assistant License or Certified Nurse Practitioner (Required)PA-C (Preferred)EMR systems : 2 years (Preferred)Certified Nurse Practitioner (Preferred)Current ACLS License
