Float Medical Assistant Talent Profile

1. Key Qualifications

Certification : Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA),Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)or equivalent preferred
Experience :
1-3 years of experience in a clinical setting preferred
Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems
Basic knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy

2. Core Skills

Clinical Skills :

Taking vital signs

Performing Point-of-Care Testing

Performing EKGs, phlebotomy, and other diagnostic tests

Assisting with minor procedures

Ensuring infection control and safety protocols

Administrative Skills :

Managing patient flow and supporting providers as needed

Maintaining accurate patient documentation

Coordinating referrals and pre-authorizations

Handling inventory and supply restocking

Interpersonal Skills :

Strong communication and active listening

Compassionate, patient-first care approach

Ability to work effectively with multiple teams across locations

Professional and calm under pressure

The Float Medical Assistant plays a vital role in supporting patient care across multiple DOCS locations. This position is scheduled as needed and picks up shifts based on coverage needs , including weekends or evenings if applicable. The ideal float MA brings consistency, adaptability, and high-quality patient care to every clinic they support.
