Float Medical Assistant Talent Profile

1. Key Qualifications

  • Certification : Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA),Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)or equivalent preferred
  • Experience :
  • 1-3 years of experience in a clinical setting preferred
  • Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy

2. Core Skills

  • Clinical Skills :
  • Taking vital signs
  • Performing Point-of-Care Testing
  • Performing EKGs, phlebotomy, and other diagnostic tests
  • Assisting with minor procedures
  • Ensuring infection control and safety protocols
  • Administrative Skills :
  • Managing patient flow and supporting providers as needed
  • Maintaining accurate patient documentation
  • Coordinating referrals and pre-authorizations
  • Handling inventory and supply restocking
  • Interpersonal Skills :
  • Strong communication and active listening

  • Ability to work effectively with multiple teams across locations

    The Float Medical Assistant plays a vital role in supporting patient care across multiple DOCS locations. This position is scheduled as needed and picks up shifts based on coverage needs , including weekends or evenings if applicable. The ideal float MA brings consistency, adaptability, and high-quality patient care to every clinic they support.
