This role is designed for an analytical thinker who wants to understand how financial institutions use complex mathematical models to prevent financial crimes, such as money laundering. You will be paired with a skilled mentor to execute a high-impact modeling project supporting Anti-Money Laundering (AML) or other critical Compliance areas. Daily activities mirror the professional data science lifecycle within a regulated banking environment, including model design, data collection and exploration, feature engineering, model optimization, testing, and documentation.

  • Analytical mindset - the ability to look at a data set and identify patterns, outliers, or inconsistencies
  • Solid writing skills to help draft technical reports and model development summaries
  • Nice to Have :

  • Exposure to specific ML techniques relevant to compliance, such as Anomaly Detection, Natural Language Processing (NLP), or Network Analysis
  • Familiarity with cloud-based data environments (such as AWS) or big data frameworks like PySpark
