Pay Information

$2,166 per week

About The Position

Job Title : Surgical Technologist

Profession : Medical Support

Specialty : Surgical Services

Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : Days

Hours per Shift : 8 hours

Experience : Minimum 2 years

License : Certifications :

  • Basic Life Support (BLS)

Must-Have :

  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)

    • Description :

    The Surgical Technologist is responsible for the preparation of the surgical suite.

    Maintains the intraoperative handling of instruments.

    Ensures the maintenance of the sterile field.

    Evaluates changing conditions during surgical procedures and responds appropriately.

    Maintains knowledge of surgical procedures and related principles.

    May serve as a Preceptor.

    Education :

    Associate's Degree or equivalent from an accredited school of Surgical Technology.

    Experience Requirements :

  • Able to work effectively and efficiently as a member of a team.
  • Aptitude for working with high-tech equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Intact sight and hearing required, especially when handling instruments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Good time management and organizational skills.
  • Self-directed and able to make quality independent decisions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines.
  • Capacity to maintain confidentiality.
  • Competency in various computer hardware and software systems.

    • Essential Functions :

    Provides sterile instruments and supplies during surgical procedures.

    Performs surgical sponge, needle, and instrument counts.

    Creates and maintains a sterile and safe environment.

    Prepares case tables with necessary equipment and sterile supplies for each surgical case.

    Assists in positioning patients for surgical procedures.

    Works proactively with physicians to align specialties and submit changes.

    Suggests instrument set changes and collaborates with teams to identify improvements.

    Actively engages in cost-saving initiatives regarding product usage.

    Participates in safety initiatives and completes required competencies on time.

    Performs other duties as assigned.
