Strategic Commodity Manager | Utilimaster | Bristol, IN (Main) (Hybrid)

What you’ll do :
As the Strategic Commodity Manager forUtilimaster(An Aebi Schmidt Group Brand) based at our manufacturing facility inBristol, IN,
you will spearhead value-creating sourcing decisions by identifying,
developing, and implementing supplier and product value stream improvement
initiatives.
You will accomplish this through effectively utilizing
strategic sourcing processes, cost targeting, supplier performance management,
supplier development, as well as value engineering processes.
Additionally, you will also be expected to support the
business goals related to quality, technology, and cost of current products as
well as support the business needs for innovative new product launches, while
also mitigating supply chain risks.
Your schedule will ideally be biweekly hybrid which encompasses a couple days a week in Bristol every other week or as needed.
Core Responsibilities :
Oversee negotiations with suppliers and execute supplier agreements ranging between $1M-$20M
Partner cross-functionally to understand and monitor Utilimaster’s needs to best serve our customers and maintain a competitive edge in the market
Create and implement strategic product sourcing strategies in partnership with Supply Chain
Oversee efforts for examine new suppliers
Manage and drive supplier performance in the areas of quality, cost, capacity, delivery, and overall value
Rationalize and segment strategies for suppliers, categories, and parts
Ensure potential suppliers meet Utilimaster’s performance requirements
Utilize your program management skills to facilitate timely implementation of sourcing items
Develop working relationships with both internal stakeholders and suppliers
Navigate and facilitate solutions when supplier issues occur
Ensure suppliers conform to our terms and conditions
Maintain a high level of supplier performance adding value
Create total cost of ownership and make vs. buy analyses
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement
Gather and examine data for specific categories and suppliers
Identify and implement value-adding activities within the supply chain
Manage relationships with assigned suppliers
Align suppliers' operating plans to achieve company goals
Stay abreast of current industry and global market trends
What you need to be successful :
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Materials Management, Finance, Engineering, or Operations,
A business degree specializing in supply chain management (Preferred)
5+ years of expertise in a professional procurement role with exposure to a variety of manufacturing processes and commodities
Knowledge of all aspects of business operations, including finance, accounting, legal, materials management, engineering, quality, and manufacturing
A track record of performing cost analysis (i.e. proven ability to use data-driven decision-making to save time and money.)
Proven negotiation skills (i.e. able to clearly explain methods used and show proven results and savings)
Supplier management expertise (i.e. vetting, investigating, selecting, building a history with them, and establishing pricing)
A history of maintaining winning supplier relationships
Proficient in Microsoft 365
Ability to travel occasionally up to 20%
