Quality Systems & Compliance Manager (Automotive)
Picture your morning : you review overnight quality alerts, huddle with your team at the verification stations, and then walk the line with Engineering and Operations to confirm the latest product transfer is running to plan. By afternoon, you're facilitating an 8D on a customer concern, closing out supplier audit actions, and preparing concise QA insights for leadership. That’s a typical day in this role—hands-on, collaborative, and relentlessly focused on prevention.
What you will lead
- Own and continuously elevate the Quality Management System, ensuring it stays effective and audit-ready.
- Champion key quality programs : layered process audits, fast response / containment teams, and verification stations on the shop floor.
- Guide structured problem solving—use 5-Why and 8D methods to drive root cause analysis and durable corrective actions.
- Partner on new product introductions, steering APQP deliverables and PPAP submissions through launch.
- Advance continuous improvement using Lean practices such as 5S and Kaizen to eliminate waste and variation.
- Build organization-wide quality capability by creating and delivering targeted training.
- Work shoulder-to-shoulder with Engineering and Operations to ensure a flawless transfer of new products into production.
- Support and mentor quality inspectors to ensure adherence to the QMS and customer standards.
- Plan and perform internal and supplier audits; record findings and drive both corrective and preventive actions to closure.
- Analyze failures and customer complaints; implement effective containment and long-term fixes.
- Maintain complete, current documentation—manuals, procedures, control plans, and reports.
- Monitor supplier quality performance, resolve issues, and lead efforts that improve incoming quality.
- Prepare and present clear, data-driven quality reports to management.
- Ensure compliance with IATF-16949 and ISO 14001, as well as internal company policies.
- Take on additional assignments as needed to achieve quality objectives.
What you bring
5+ years as a Quality Manager in automotive or manufacturing environments.Deep understanding of IATF 16949 requirements and ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems.Proficiency with : audits, PPAP, Gage R&R, capability studies, sample part testing, process flow mapping, control plans, and work instructions.History of leading internal audits, overseeing supplier quality, and serving as the primary customer-facing quality contact.Proven support of APQP and new product development in close collaboration with engineering teams.If you’re energized by elevating processes, coaching teams, and turning data into action, you’ll thrive here.
