Opportunity : RN - PCU Job Details : - Work on the 4Heart, Cardiovascular Progressive Care (CVPC) unit - Primary patient population includes CV surgery and vascular surgery patients - Manage patients with open heart surgery (CABG, AVR, MVR, Bentall, TAVR), thoracic lung surgery (lobectomy, thoracotomy), esophagogastrectomy, AAA (open and endovascular), fem-pop bypass, and carotid endarterectomies - Also receive overflow medical cardiology patients with heart failure, DKA, chest pain, sepsis, heart block - Patient ratio : 1 : 5 patients per RN - No on-call requirements - Minimum 6 weekend shifts (Saturday / Sunday day / night) per 6-week schedule period required - Must be flexible to work holidays - Perform epidural management, chest tube management, tube feedings, IV glucommander - Manage cardiac drips (phenylephrine, dobutamine, dopamine, milrinone, cardizem, amiodarone, insulin, heparin, nitroglycerin, ketamine) - Work with Baxter IV pumps, CADD epidural pumps, various lifts - Use Cerner EMR system - Float to any stepdown (1 : 5 ratios) or medical-surgical (1 : 6-7 ratios) unit, ER inpatient holding area (1 : 6) - Dress code : All navy, white tops / navy bottoms, or all white scrubs - Required certifications : ACLS and BLS - Must have stepdown and telemetry experience - Prior CV surgery and vascular surgery population experience preferred - CVICU experience preferred - Must be a team player, enjoy fast-paced environment, and be flexible Facility : This flagship hospital is licensed for 815 beds and serves as the region's referral center with the only Level II trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, and Level III neonatal intensive care unit.
