Pharmacist

Purpose of Job

This position is responsible for the dispensing medications and providing drug information following established standards and practices to ensure proper and safe medication use.

Job Functions

• Compounds and dispenses medications and other pharmaceuticals.
• Prepares IV solutions.
• Prepares and maintains all necessary records on prescriptions, patient charges and inventory.
• Provides information to facility staff on drugs and pharmaceuticals.
• Writes guidelines for drug use within the hospital and implements hospital regulations.
• Ensures medicines are stores appropriately and securely.
• Provides guidance to pharmacy staff.
• Answers questions about medicines from within the hospital, other hospitals and the general public.
• This position may occasionally be required to float to other locations. Waconia, Chaska, Arlington, Le Sueur.
• This position requires occasional coverage of emergency department pharmacist shifts on weekdays and weekends.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Compensation

Many factors are taken into consideration when determining compensation such as : the requirements of the position, experience, education, knowledge, and skills along with location and internal equity. Pay listed does not include any shift, weekend, or other differentials.
