Position : Quality Assurance Technician
Location : Danvers, MA 01923
Pay : $25 / hr (W2)
Shift : 7 : 00 AM – 3 : 30 PM
Schedule : Monday – Friday
Contract Period : 5+ months | Temp-to-Perm
Job Summary
The Quality Assurance Technician is a self-motivated individual responsible for inspecting products and performing testing during and after manufacturing to ensure compliance with established quality standards. This role requires a strong understanding of inspection processes, technical drawings, and quality systems such as ISO 9001.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Interpret engineering drawings and specifications; collaborate with management and engineering to establish quality and reliability standards.
- Perform dimensional inspections on raw materials, finished parts, and tooling using calipers, gauges, and other precision instruments.
- Ensure compliance with applicable standards, including ISO 9000 and customer-specific requirements.
- Review and document product or process non-conformances, recommending corrective or preventive actions as needed.
- Select products for testing and inspection at designated stages of production to verify dimensions, performance, and mechanical properties.
- Maintain detailed inspection logs, data sheets, and quality records for each lot or batch inspected.
- Request updates to QA plans, tolerances, and process control procedures to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Conduct receiving inspections and testing on incoming materials.
- Utilize mechanical instruments, functional gauges, and test rigs to validate part quality.
- Complete all related quality documentation, including rework tags and nonconformance reports.
- Share technical expertise and provide training support to other team members.
- Communicate daily with cross-functional departments to resolve quality issues.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- Maintain regular attendance and uphold company values in all aspects of work.
Qualifications
Proven experience in quality inspection or assurance within a manufacturing environment.Strong understanding of ISO 9001 quality standards and customer quality requirements.Skilled in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical documents.Proficient in using precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.).Familiarity with manufacturing, spreadsheet, and word processing software.Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles, process improvement, and warehouse methods.Excellent communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.Highly organized and self-driven with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.Ability to adapt to changing environments and maintain accountability for quality outcomes.Education and Experience
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering (preferred).2–5 years of experience in quality inspection, quality assurance, or related manufacturing roles.Company Description
