Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) night shift position requiring Epic proficiency and advanced cardiac ICU skills.

Responsibilities

  • Work in the Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) within a hospital setting
  • Night shifts from 7 : 00 PM to 7 : 30 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week
  • Requirement to work up to 6 weekend shifts in a 4-week schedule period
  • Rotating holiday coverage required
  • Patient ratios are estimated 1 : 1-2
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Must float to units of equivalent or lower acuity, no more than once every four weeks
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Provide advanced nursing care to critically ill cardiovascular patients
  • Adhere to strict fingerprinting compliance requirements, which must be completed promptly after contract signing
  • First-time travelers are welcome but previous travel experience is preferred
  • Locals are accepted at the same rate as travelers
  • Holiday and weekend coverage is required as part of scheduling
  • Requested time off must be submitted at the time of contract consideration
  • Current employees of Ohio State University hospital locations are not eligible for travel assignments

    • Requirements

  • Active OH or Compact RN license in hand at time of consideration
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Minimum 2 years of cardiac ICU experience preferred
  • Experience required with IV starts, telemetry, ventilators, Swan Ganz catheters, conscious sedation, balloon pumps, and PA lines
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
  • Two professional references required, including one from a manager, director, or supervisor in a formal leadership role
  • Former employees must have a separation of at least 6 months before being eligible
