Position Title : Habitat Restoration Project Manager

Established in 1993, Tampa Bay Watch is a 501(C)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering a healthy Tampa Bay watershed through community driven restoration projects, education programs and outreach initiatives.
Position Summary : The Habitat Restoration Project Manager is responsible for managing and overseeing assigned habitat restoration projects for Tampa Bay Watch. This role provides strategic direction throughout the planning, design, engineering, and permitting phases to ensure each project is delivered with high quality, on time, and within budget. Additionally, the Project Manager supports the Habitat Restoration Director in overseeing Living Shoreline initiatives within the Restoration Department.
Key Duties & Responsibilities :
- Supports the development of Living Shoreline projects through project planning and design, including assisting with field surveys and serving as a liaison between management, consultants, contractors, regulatory agencies, and other designated parties.
- Organizes project work meetings and coordinates with project partners to ensure adherence to project schedules.
- Creates, tracks, and reports on project scopes and schedules, regularly communicating progress to management and team members.
- Identifies and addresses issues, challenges, and risks that may impact project quality, cost, or timelines.
- Ensures all required permits, licenses, agreements, clearances, or approvals related to infrastructure, utilities, site preparation, or facility operations are obtained and implemented.
- Coordinates with local, state, and federal permitting agencies in obtaining required regulatory authorizations.
- Manages design and engineering consultant assignments for designated projects.
- Prioritizes tasks effectively and manages competing and shifting priorities to meet deadlines.
- Demonstrates a solid understanding and working knowledge of project management and Living Shoreline project development.
- Collaborates successfully with Program Managers to ensure necessary materials are available to implement permitted and funded projects.
- Fosters a collaborative “team” environment among all project members.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications : Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Marine Science, Natural Resource Management, or a related field and at least 5 years progressively responsible experience required. MBA and Project Management Certification preferred. Current valid Florida Driver’s License a must and a OUPV (Six Pack) Captain’s License preferred. Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug / alcohol screen and background investigation.
