Senior Credit Manager
The Senior Credit Manager is responsible for the day-to-day leadership of credit function for one of the largest business units in the company; Serve as the consultant for staff, GM / Sales team; not only providing credit decisions, collections cash application and account maintenance but providing proactive support to the local business to drive down DSO, mitigating risk but partnering with sales to capture each opportunity feasible.
Essential Responsibilities
Credit and Collections Management :
Evaluate creditworthiness of new and existing customers assigning credit limits and terms of credit for new customers and monitoring existing customers in accordance with company policies.
Develop and implement credit policies and procedures to enhance the efficiency of the credit approval process.
Oversee the collection of $60m+ outstanding accounts receivable to ensure timely and efficient recovery of funds. Communicating with customers regarding overdue accounts and negotiate payment arrangements as necessary.
Facilitate terms agreements between with sales and finance leadership.
Leveraging organization and strong interpersonal skills, drive to resolution complex customer complex related issues with customers and customer service.
Coordinate with internal departments to resolve customer disputes.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all collection activities and customer interactions.
Reporting and Analysis :
Prepare and manage to reports on credit and collections performance, including aging and DSO reports. Analyze credit and collections data to identify trends, potential issues, and opportunities for improvement.
Team Leadership :
Lead and mentor a team of 8+ credit and collections specialists, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance.
Conduct training sessions for staff on credit policies, collection techniques, and customer service best practices.
Foster a collaborative and results-oriented team environment.
Lead in a matrixed environment as we transition to regional credit leadership model.
Compliance and Risk Management :
Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and industry standards related to credit and collections.
Develop and maintain strong internal controls to mitigate financial risks and prevent fraud.
Collaborate with legal team and third-party collection agencies as needed on issues related to delinquent accounts and legal proceedings.
Experience, Education & Physical Requirements :
BS Degree in Business or related degree
7-10 years of experience in progressively advancing credit roles.
Experienced in a public or PE owned company is a plus.
Advanced Microsoft Excel Skills required
Experience with Credit reporting tools and AS400 based systems preferred.
Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills and effective communicator.
Ability to multi-task with strong attention to detail.
Experience leading teams and leveraging teams.
Must be able to work under pressure and achieve hard deadlines, keeping a healthy environment amongst the team.
Ability to physically sit at a desk for long periods, operate a computer, and listen / speak clearly on the phone and in-person.
Ability to pass job-related employment screenings.
The pay range for this role is $120,000- $145,000 per year. This range represents what the company reasonably expects to pay an associate for this role based on current market data, internal equity, and other business factors. The actual compensation offered may vary depending on factors such as relevant experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other considerations.
