Academic Director & Full-Time Faculty (Speech-Language Pathology)

Overview

The Graduate Program in Speech-Language Pathology is hiring an Academic Director & Full-Time Faculty member and is approved by the New York State Education Department and is an ASHA certified program. It offers a 58 credit Masters degree program. Faculty members are involved in teaching, scholarly activities and service to the institution and the community.

Responsibilities

• In addition to the traditional duties of the full-time faculty listed below, the director will :
• Assist the Director / Department Chair with administrative responsibilities including generating reports, budget submission, admissions coordination, scheduling of academic classes / calendar, participation in peer reviews, and oversight of student issues and files.
• Support program events such as open houses and collaborate with the program recruiter.
• Teach two courses per semester (with release time from one course). Prepare syllabi, course outlines and assign texts.
• Advise students, maintain completed advisement sheets and submit any remediation forms as appropriate.
• Participate in scholarly activities such as research, publications, presentation, and grant writing.
• Engage in Service by participating in program and University committees and meetings.
• Perform clinical teaching and supervision if applicable to program needs.
• Complete special projects as designated by the Director / Department Chair.
• Assist with the annual report at the end of the academic year and work closely on ASHA reports and state submissions.
• Mentor students on research projects when appropriate.
• Assist in the development of online courses as needed.
• Oversee new program initiatives.

Salary

Salary : USD 92,000 - USD 115,000 per year.
