Labor & Delivery RN Job Details

Location : Chattanooga, TN 37412 – Tennessee nursing jobs in a friendly city with river views, arts, and outdoor activities.

Assignment Length : 13 weeks

Start Date : November 24, 2025

End Date : February 23, 2026

Shift : 12-hour days (7 : 00 AM – 7 : 00 PM)

Hours per Week : 36

Estimated Weekly Salary : $1470-$1570

Unit : Labor & Delivery (9 labor rooms, 6 triage rooms, 3 antepartum rooms, 3 ORs)

Dress Code : Black, grey, or pink solid scrubs

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active RN license (Registered Nurse)

Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience

Travel nursing experience preferred

Required certifications : BLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Heart Monitoring

Experience with Meditech and Centricity documentation systems is a plus

Labor & Delivery Nurse Responsibilities

Deliver comprehensive nursing care to laboring, antepartum, and postpartum patients

Perform cervical exams, IUPC and FSE placement, vaginal deliveries, IV starts, and lab draws

Circulate and recover cesarean sections (primarily with spinal anesthesia)

Collaborate with OB techs, charge nurses, anesthesia providers, and the multidisciplinary healthcare team

Utilize advanced labor & delivery tools : nitrous oxide therapy, Jada, fetal pillow, Cook's catheters

Accurately document patient care using Meditech and Centricity

Float to Mother Baby unit as needed
