Description : Summary of Duties :

Create and maintain close relationships with all parties involved in commercial transactions and help facilitate sales through the structuring of creative and appealing loan products. Contacts new and existing clients to cultivate originate and service commercial relationships for the bank including loans and deposits. This position is primarily responsible for originating and managing commercial loan relationships specializing in C&I Lending. The majority of the portfolio and lending activity will target the following : lines of credit, term loans and owner occupied real estate. Investment real estate opportunities will be considered sparingly.

Essential Functions :

  • Contacts new and existing bank clients to determine commercial lending needs and establish or maintain a solid banking relationship; initiates commercial loans as determined by contact with client.
  • Develops and retains commercial business, meeting with prospects and customers of moderate size and complexity in a designated region to achieve a moderate sales goal under limited supervision of more experienced personnel.
  • Gathers related financial and general business information, performs financial analyses needed to make credit decisions, participates in team credit decisions and communicates with prospects and customers to close sales.
  • Performs necessary ongoing research regarding the client’s business, including analysis of financial statements to maintain proper risk rating on assigned credits.
  • Provides accurate and adequate documentation for loan files.
  • Communicates bank loan decisions with client and services loan upon closing; communicates necessary information to review committee as required.
  • Promotes bank products and services through community contacts and involvement.
  • Maintain a strong community involvement.
  • Assures compliance with required regulations including proper loan documentation.
  • Makes calls independently but may be accompanied by more experienced personnel on larger account visits.
  • Develops knowledge of commercial and other products and services, including loan policy, documentation, structuring and regulatory requirements.
  • Continues developing network of outside referral sources for new business.
  • Ensures that own work is in compliance with applicable laws, regulations and guidelines.
  • Assumes additional responsibilities as required by the position.

Requirements :

Position Requirements :

Minimum of 5 years previous lending experience, including background in credit analysis and commercial lending.

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Degree in business, finance, accounting or management preferred.
  • High level of integrity.
  • Ability to analyze financial statements, with solid attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Demonstrated communication, organizational and customer service skills.
  • Experience utilizing SBA 7a and 504 Loan products preferred.
  • Demonstrated consultative sales skills.
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, listening).
  • Detail-oriented and well-organized.
  • Ability to represent the bank positively in the community.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to the institution’s privacy policies.
  • Technical Skills

  • Requires significant knowledge of bank products and services.
  • Business, analytical, and technical sales expertise are necessary.
  • Proficiency with personal computers and Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point) or similar software. Experience with CRM systems is preferred.
