Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric Hematology / Oncology night shift position requiring an OK or compact RN license and specialized oncology certifications.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Hospital-based pediatric hematology and oncology unit
  • Care provided to pediatric patients with hematology and oncology diagnoses
  • Night shift position with 12-hour shifts, three nights per week
  • Assignment duration is 13 weeks
  • Responsible for managing an assigned group of pediatric patients and documenting all nursing interventions and changes in medical orders
  • Assists physicians with examinations and minor procedures, administers medications, initiates and monitors IV infusions and blood products
  • Collaborates with patients and families to communicate care plans and hospital procedures
  • Delegates appropriate tasks to support staff members
  • No locals accepted; must reside outside a 50-mile radius
  • A six-month separation is required for returning employees after working 26 weeks

  • Active OK or compact RN license required
  • Minimum of 1 year RN experience
  • Associate’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required
  • Current certifications required : BLS, ACLS, and PALS (AHA only)
  • APHON Chemotherapy and ONS Fundamentals of Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Administration certifications required
  • Strong communication, organizational, and computer skills needed
