Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring a UT or compact RN license and strong critical thinking skills.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Work in a rural Emergency Department within a hospital setting
  • Care for a broad patient population, from neonates to geriatrics
  • Assignment is 13 weeks with a schedule of three 12-hour shifts, including both days and nights
  • Low nurse-to-patient ratios maintained
  • Level IV trauma environment
  • Expected to function as both triage and primary care RN
  • Responsibilities include broad general nursing duties, triage, primary care, EKGs, lab draws, medication administration, and providing comfort measures
  • Work both independently and as part of a small, collaborative team
  • Blue scrubs are preferred attire
  • Pre-employment drug test and background check required
  • Holiday coverage expected for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day

  • Active and unencumbered Utah or compact RN license
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing school
  • Two or more years of nursing experience in med / surg and / or emergency department settings
  • Current BLS certification required
  • ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications required or must obtain upon consideration
  • Able to start EKGs, IVs, draw labs, and manage medication administration rates
  • Physical ability to lift / move up to 50 lbs independently and more with assistance
  • Strong critical thinking, communication, and customer service skills
  • Emotionally mature and capable of handling stressful situations
