Primary Objective : Dynamic, Well Spoken, Results Oriented, Detailed Individual to serve as a key member of the Senior Leadership Team reporting to the President. Manages company assets and minimizes liabilities. This individual will practice accepted accounting practices while supervising accounts payable, account receivable, and sales audit. Guiding the seasonal and annual budgeting processes and analyzing / forecasting results will be a key function. Must provide strong leadership and serve as a key member of the senior team at UFOT. The Controller must be able to motivate staff at all levels and spread workload appropriately amongst their team members. Responsibilities include managing and developing processes, policies and internal controls, identifying and managing financial risks, managing complete, accurate and timely financial management reporting. Clearly and accurately reporting monthly results and explaining accounting matters to the COO.
General duties include :
- Accurate modeling of savings associated with initiatives driven by key business partners; including President / COO
- Strategic Sourcing in pursuit of cost savings in all expense areas; has and maintains a strong understanding of industry best practices related to expense reduction
- Financial Education of Senior Leadership Team to ensure alignment in supporting plan or reducing expenses
- Planning, directing and coordination of all accounting operational functions
- Managing the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results
- Preparing internal and coordinating external financial statements.
- Coordinating activities of external auditors
- Providing management with information vital to the decision-making process
- Assessing current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement and implementing new processes, policies and procedures
- Evaluating accounting and internal control systems
- Leads in implementing policies, procedures, discipline, and priorities relating to financial accounting and reporting and accounts payable. Continuously improve systems, procedures and internal controls
- Overseeing regulatory reporting
- Hiring, training and retaining competent accounting staff who understand they are in service to the organization at large
- Develops great customer service reputation personally and requires the same from the Accounting Team
- Ongoing job performance evaluation of the accounting department staff
- Does not shy away from conflict internally or externally, rather looks at feedback / praise / critique as a means of developing team for future growth within the organization

Must have retail experience, minimum of 5 years as a Controller with responsibility of sales volume of $100M or more
