General Overview :
We are currently recruiting a Senior Accountant who ensures the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, reconciling, and entering transactions. Along with assisting in the periodic financial reports and enforcing all accounting and company policies. This is a hybrid position located in North Aurora, IL or Agawam, MA.
Key Responsibilities :
General Ledger & Month-End Close
- Prepare and post journal entries ensuring accuracy and timeliness for multiple locations.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely fashion.
- Assist in the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
- Maintain and update fixed asset schedules and depreciation entries.
- Assists with physical inventory counts, cost accounting and variance analysis.
- Reviews the credit card travel and expense program, including keeping the bank program up to date with changes.
- Maintains general ledger by transferring inter-company accounts, preparing a trial balance, and reconciling entries.
- Work with our offshore accounting team to review work and streamline processes.
Financial Reporting & Analysis
Review internal financial statements for completeness and prepare supporting schedules.Assist with variance analysis and provide insights into management.Support budgeting and forecasting processes with historical data and trends.Collaborate with FP&A and other departments to ensure accurate reporting.Compliance & Controls
Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policiesProvides financial information to support audits, tax preparation, and other corporate requests.Maintain documentation for accounting procedures and controls.Process Improvement & Systems
Identify opportunities for automation and efficiency within accounting processes.Participate in system upgrades, implementations, and testing.Provide training and support to junior accounting staff.Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with HR, Operations, and other departments on financial matters.Support special projects and ad hoc reporting requests.Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.Educational / Experience Requirements :
Bachelor’s degree in accounting / finance preferred.5+ years of progressive accounting experience.Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.Strong computer proficiency, especially in Microsoft Office Suite.Advanced Excel capabilities, including data analysis tools, formula creation, and spreadsheet automation.Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., Sage 100, Infor Syteline, Visual).Experience with Bloomberg, FloQast, Concur, and ADP GLI a plus.Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.Must be detailed orientated, organized, able to plan effectively, prioritize, and multi-task.Must be team oriented.EEO Statement : The Company is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
