Position Summary
Kino College is seeking an experienced, visionary Curriculum Specialist to lead the development, evaluation, and continuous improvement of career-aligned, competency-based curriculum for our allied health programs. This individual will drive instructional design grounded in andragogical theory, ensuring materials are responsive to adult learning needs, healthcare workforce standards, and regulatory compliance (e.g., ABHES, Title IV). The Curriculum Manager will collaborate with faculty, compliance officers, and instructional technologists in a hybrid work environment to maintain an agile, outcomes-focused curriculum framework.
Key Responsibilities
Curriculum Development & Instructional Design
- Lead the design and implementation of credit-bearing, clock-to-credit-aligned curriculum using adult learning (andragogical) frameworks.
- Create and maintain program maps, syllabi, lesson plans, assessments, and instructional materials.
- Align all content to industry competencies, accreditation standards (ABHES), and measurable learning outcomes.
- Guide faculty on the application of backward design, Bloom's Taxonomy, and Universal Design for Learning (UDL).
Project Leadership & Collaboration
Partner with Deans, program directors, and SMEs to assess gaps and lead content updates.Manage curriculum review cycles and prepare documentation for QA and accreditation.Mentor instructional staff on best practices in andragogy, inclusive pedagogy, and LMS integration.Data-Informed Decision-Making
Use student data and assessments to guide curriculum revisions.Design and oversee implementation of formative and summative assessment tools (Quality Matters expertise preferred).Technology Integration
Collaborate on LMS integration (D2L / Brightspace preferred).Qualifications
Required
Master's degree in Education, Curriculum & Instruction, or related field.5–10 years of curriculum design experience in a health sciences or technical setting.Demonstrated expertise in andragogical principles (adult learner) and competency-based education.Knowledge of accreditation standards and federal compliance.Proficiency with LMS platforms and curriculum mapping tools.Excellent organizational and communication skills.Preferred
Experience in healthcare education (e.g., Medical Assisting, Nursing).Familiarity with design software (Articulate, Captivate).Ability to track curriculum effectiveness with data. Proficient in statistics analysis.Work Environment & Schedule
