About the Position
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to join our department and provide essential support for operations. This role is ideal for someone who is organized, motivated, and eager to grow within a fast-paced and seasonal business environment. Availability on weekends during the operating season is required.
Position Summary
The Accounting Assistant will work closely with the Accounting Department Lead to maintain accurate financial records, process day-to-day transactions, and assist with reporting.
Duties & Responsibilities
Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable as neededReview and organize invoices, purchase orders, and expense reportsSupport bank reconciliations and general ledger entriesAssist in preparing monthly and year-end financial statements & TaxesMaintain accurate vendor files and ensure timely paymentsProvide clerical and administrative support to the Accounting Department LeadAssist with audit preparation and compliance documentationPerform additional tasks as assigned by the Accounting Department LeadQualifications
Associates degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business preferred (Bachelors a plus)12 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience preferredProficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word; QuickBooks or similar software a plusStrong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracyAbility to handle confidential information with professionalismStrong communication and teamwork abilitiesMust be available to work weekends during the operating seasonCompensation & Benefits
