Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a night shift Intermediate Care (IMC) position requiring active IL licensure, ACLS / BLS certification, and strong telemetry skills.
Responsibilities
Work in the Intermediate Care (IMC) unit of an acute care, Level I trauma, Magnet-designated hospitalNight shift schedule with options for 3x12 or 4x12 hour shifts (1845-0715)Average daily census is 38 patientsRequired to work every other weekend and float to similar units as neededNo on-call responsibilitiesUses Cerner EMR with previous Cerner experience requiredPatient population includes cardiac, post cardiac surgery, renal, neuro, and complex medical casesCardiac monitoring, post-angiogram care, and management of surgical drains and respiratory support equipmentProvide comprehensive care including cardiac, neurological, renal, respiratory, and post-surgical managementWill float within the hospital or to affiliate hospitals as neededWorks as part of a multidisciplinary acute care team in a teaching and trauma settingAny solid color scrubs are acceptableMust be able to work 2 out of 3 major holidaysNo COVID, RQI cards, or pending license allowed; references may be pending at applicationLocals acceptedCandidates who have worked as perm or PRN employees at this health system must have a 12-month separation before applyingRequirements
Active IL RN license required at time of applicationMinimum 2 years of recent experience in MS / Tele, Telemetry, Cardiac Tele, PCU / DOU / IMC, or Stepdown settingsCurrent certifications : ACLS and BLS from AHA or Red CrossStrong skills in cardiac and telemetry monitoring, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmiasPrior experience with Cerner charting system requiredExperience managing post cardiac, gastrointestinal, renal, and neurological casesProficiency in IV therapy and phlebotomy, central / peripheral / PICC line care, blood product administration, and medication infusionsMust have experience with respiratory support devices (CPAP / BIPAP, HFNC, chest tubes) and wound careFirst-time travelers acceptedBenefits
