Certified Medical Assistant

Responsible for providing general direct and indirect patient care in a clinical setting under the direct supervision of a physician. Collaborates with the interdisciplinary care team to ensure functionality of practice operations to provide excellent patient care. Ensures medical facilities run smoothly, and works in a clerical, administrative, or clinical capacity, and may even be asked to perform more specialized tasks.

Principal Accountabilities :

Handles patient intake, updates medical records, and administers appropriate screening tools.

• Records medical information and test results, conducts patient interviews, takes and records vital signs, collects specimens, and administers medication under physician supervision.
• Assists with walk-in and scheduled clinic visits, ensures verification and recording of clinical data and adherence to quality standards.
• Guides patients through the health care system and helps patients arrive at scheduled appointments on time.
• Taking vital signs : Typically performed before a patient sees a doctor to establish a baseline for future exams
• Assisting with examinations : Working closely with physicians to perform clinical tasks
• Collecting and preparing laboratory samples : Instructing patients on how to collect samples or drawing blood
• Excellent Communication, Work Ethic, Active Listening, Adaptability to working in fast pace environment, and hold upmost professionalism at all times. Strong written and communication skills
• Greeting patients : Welcoming patients to the facility and Scheduling appointments : Organizing appointments for patients
• Maintaining medical records : Recording patient medical histories and vital signs in the computer system
• Cleaning patient rooms : Sanitizing and reorganizing patient rooms between visits
• Prepping examination rooms : Ensuring the exam room is ready for the patient, including disinfecting equipment and stocking supplies
• Provides emotional support related to the patient's clinical situation in accordance with the patient's plan of care.
• Assists with referrals of patients to the appropriate specialist for diagnosis or treatment.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Associate's degree in Medical Care or related field.
