Full Job Description: The Logistics Coordinator will be responsible for brokering truckloads and containers to outsourced carrier partners, negotiating rates, dispatching drivers, and maintaining strong relationships to ensure the timely and cost-effective transportation of goods. Duties also include tracking trailers, ensuring timely receipt of carrier paperwork & invoices, scheduling appointments, updating customer portals, and customer service responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
- Load Brokerage: Source, negotiate, and secure trucking capacity to fulfill customer shipping requirements, ensuring the timely and cost-effective transportation of freight.
- Carrier Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with carriers, including negotiating rates, resolving issues, and ensuring compliance with service agreements.
- Customer Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, providing updates on shipment status, addressing inquiries, and resolving any issues that arise during transportation.
- Route Optimization: Analyze shipping requirements and available carrier capacity to optimize routing and maximize efficiency, minimizing transit times and transportation costs.
- Documentation and Compliance: Ensure all necessary documentation, including contracts, bills of lading, and shipping instructions, are accurately completed and processed in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Problem Resolution: Proactively identify and resolve any issues or challenges that may arise during transportation, such as delays, damages, or routing changes, to minimize disruptions and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Data Analysis: Utilize transportation management systems and data analytics tools to track and analyze key performance metrics, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions to improve operational efficiency.
- Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process improvements, streamline workflows, and enhance service quality to drive customer satisfaction and business growth.
Job Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, related field, or equivalent experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Customer Management Systems.
- Data entry skills with attention to detail.
- Experience working in a Customer Service role.
- Transportation industry experience preferred.
