About the Role
Are you an early-career attorney with a passion for family law and a desire to build real courtroom experience? Join a growing divorce and family law firm where you’ll take on meaningful responsibility, work closely with experienced attorneys, and continue developing your litigation and client advocacy skills.
We’re seeking an Associate Attorney with at least 2 years of experience who is ready to move beyond support work and take ownership of cases while still benefiting from mentorship and collaboration.
What You’ll Do
- Manage family law cases from intake through resolution with appropriate supervision
- Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and agreements
- Represent clients in court hearings, mediations, and negotiations
- Communicate directly with clients to provide guidance and updates
- Collaborate with attorneys and paralegals to develop case strategy
- Maintain organized and accurate case files
What We’re Looking For
- 2+ years of legal experience (family law strongly preferred; litigation required)
- Licensed and in good standing in North Carolina
- Demonstrated courtroom experience (hearings, motions, etc.)
- Strong legal writing and analytical skills
- Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines independently
- Client-focused mindset with strong interpersonal skills
- Proactive, accountable, and team-oriented

Compensation:$89,000 yearly
Responsibilities:- Review client issues on legal matters, analyze available options, and diligently work to determine the best course of action
- Attend court hearings or other legal proceedings, perform legal research, and work with senior associate attorneys to provide legal advice
- Maintain client files in an organized fashion to ensure up-to-date information is handy for other attorneys, paralegals and support staff
- Communicate with senior associates, paralegals, and clients to ensure cases are handled efficiently
- Draft documents such as correspondence, pleadings, motions, briefs, affidavits, settlement agreements, and contracts to be used proceedings and contract negotiations
Qualifications:- Exceptional communication skills and problem-solving skills needed in order to work with all levels of staff and our clients
- Successful completion of the bar exam
- Prepared to learn from senior attorneys to meet our client needs and grow our client base
- Active membership with the American Bar Association (ABA)
