Accord Power is a leading solar energy developer and EPC serving commercial, industrial, and public sector clients across the region. Building on over a decade of experience delivering high- performance solar energy systems, we are expanding our energy storage and microgrid offerings to help our customers achieve greater resilience, efficiency, and sustainability.
We’re on a mission to accelerate the transition to clean, reliable, and resilient energy. For over a decade, we’ve helped businesses, schools, and communities go solar — now we’re expanding into energy storage and microgrids to take distributed energy to the next level.
We’re a fast-growing team of problem solvers and innovators who believe the future of energy is local, intelligent, and renewable. If you’re excited by that vision and want to help design the systems that make it real, we’d love to meet you.
- Position Overview
We’re looking for a Senior Energy Storage & Microgrid Engineer who can help lead the technical and analytical design of commercial and multi-megawatt-scale storage and microgrid projects. This person will take a hands-on role in modeling project economics, evaluating interconnection and grid requirements, and developing technical designs that balance performance, cost, and value.
The ideal candidate has deep familiarity with New York’s VDER Value Stack or similar distributed energy market structures — and / or direct construction experience building large solar + storage systems in the field. You’ll bridge engineering, analytics, and project execution to turn innovative concepts into bankable, buildable projects.
- Key Responsibilities
- Support the preliminary design and sizing of solar PV + BESS and microgrid systems.
- Develop and refine technical and financial models to evaluate project feasibility, system performance, and ROI / IRR.
- Support and review EPC scopes, construction budgets, and schedules.
- Perform energy use and load profile analysis using customer data to identify opportunities for demand management and cost savings.
- Assist in system configuration, including battery sizing, inverter selection, and control strategies for grid-tied and islanded systems.
- Contribute to proposal development, including technical documentation, schematics, and performance summaries.
- Research energy markets, rate structures, incentive programs, and utility interconnection requirements.
- Collaborate with sales, engineering, and project management teams to advance projects from concept through design.
- Maintain awareness of emerging BESS technologies, microgrid control platforms, and distributed energy trends.
- Qualifications
- Required :
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Energy Systems (MBA or advanced degree a plus).
- 5–10+ years of experience in solar, storage, or distributed energy project development or construction.
- Proven experience managing contractors, vendors, and project schedules.
- Strong understanding of energy storage systems, interconnection processes, and utility programs (VDER experience strongly preferred). Detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable managing multiple projects.
- Preferred :
- NABCEP, PE, and other qualifications are a plus.
- Strong proficiency in Excel, Python, or other analytical tools for modeling and data analysis.
- Familiarity with microgrid control systems or distributed energy resource management systems (DERMS).
- Experience with ETB, Aurora, Helioscope, PVsyst, or similar simulation tools.
- Understanding of energy tariffs, incentives, and market participation models (e.g., demand response, capacity markets).
- Experience working on commercial or industrial-scale energy systems.
- Why Join Us
- Work at the intersection of Solar+ESS, clean tech, data, and energy innovation.
- Opportunity to work on cutting-edge solar + storage projects shaping the future of distributed energy.
- Exposure to both the technical and financial sides of clean energy project development.
- Get hands-on experience with real projects that make an impact.
- Collaborate with a small, passionate team where your ideas matter.
- Learn from industry veterans while shaping your own career path in energy storage and microgrids.
- Competitive pay, benefits, and growth opportunities in a fast-evolving field.
- Hands-on mentorship from senior engineers and analysts.
