Plant Manager
The Plant Manager is responsible for overseeing the manufacturing operations at the site to ensure safety, product quality, and achievement of business objectives. This position provides leadership in production, maintenance, scheduling, safety, product quality, and strategic planning. The role involves driving continuous improvement while fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and teamwork.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and direct daily production floor operations, ensuring interdepartmental collaboration.
- Meet and exceed plant performance expectations in Cost, Quality, Safety, and Service.
- Analyze and improve plant operations and key metrics.
- Champion site safety by ensuring compliance with all safety programs and procedures.
- Develop and implement strategies for productivity increase and continuous improvement.
- Lead problem-solving and root cause analysis initiatives.
- Promote and enforce quality compliance and culture, including HACCP, SQF, and GMPs.
- Collaborate with the Quality department to resolve customer complaints and audit findings.
- Provide leadership and guidance to managers and supervisors for development and succession planning.
- Coordinate with Maintenance and Engineering for capital projects and maintenance activities.
- Manage site budgets and deliver cost reductions.
- Ensure inventory accuracy and timely order fulfillment.
- Accountable for all aspects of site performance in a 24 / 7 manufacturing environment.

A minimum of seven years of experience managing in a manufacturing environment, with at least three years in food manufacturing.Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Meat Science, Business Administration, or related field.Experience managing a USDA-regulated manufacturing site is preferred.Strong team player with effective relationship-building skills.Proven problem-solving skills and creativity in solutions.Strong time management, communication, and organizational skills.Financial acumen with a solid understanding of plant financials.Ability to work flexible hours, including off-shift and weekends.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; Redzone and ERP experience preferred.Lean Manufacturing, TPM, and Six Sigma experience preferred.Ability to lift up to 40 pounds in production, maintenance, and warehousing environments.Job Type & Location
This is a permanent position based out of Union, MO.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $130,000.00 - $150,000.00 / yr. Excellent benefits with many different options.
