Descripción del trabajoLovelace Medical Center is an acute care hospital with 263 licensed beds, providing comprehensive care, including around-the-clock emergency care, surgical services, non-invasive robotic spine surgery, stroke care, radiology, and oncology services. Works under moderate supervision of nursing and medical staff to perform all duties of a PCT, which include assisting patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, eating, and other ADLs. Observe patients’ progress to prepare and disseminate reports to Registered Nurses or other medical staff. Obtains and records patients' vital signs and collects specimens for lab tests. Provide basic patient transport and housekeeping duties. Measures and records patients' intake and output and other measurements in accordance with unit routines, assists patients with a range of motion, and draws blood. High School or GED. Must have BLS certification within 30 days of hire or transfer into the position. Experience in Phlebotomy or completion of a Phlebotomy course. Demonstrated proficiency in phlebotomy. 2 years of experience in acute or long-term care. Completion of approved CNA, PCT, or paramedic (EMT-P) certification, which includes BLS, or currently enrolled in nursing school. Knowledge of medical terminology.
